Grow Financial Supports St. Jude Walk/Run Tampa

It was a record-breaking year for Grow Financial and St. Jude Walk/Run Tampa! From sponsoring the event to fundraising and participating in the Walk/Run, we’re so proud of all the Grow team accomplished to help St. Jude in their mission to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

Together the Grow team and the Grow Financial Foundation raised over $33,000 and made our largest donation to-date to St. Jude. Our top fundraiser and St. Jude Walk/Run Tampa’s top fundraiser, Justin Yent, Grow’s AVP of Loan Resolution and Chairman of the Board of the Grow Foundation, also served as the chair of the Walk/Run Tampa and was instrumental in the success of the event.

“I’ve been involved with St. Jude since 2014 and joined the Walk/Run committee in 2017. From a young age I was encouraged to leave the world in a better place than I found it, and St. Jude has really helped me do that. The first time I heard their mission, I knew this was a cause I wanted to champion,” Yent said.

There were 1,910 participants in this year’s Walk/Run and over 2,000 people were there to support St. Jude on Saturday, September 14. Because of this great attendance, we were able to throw the largest No More Chemo party, which is a very important part of the treatment process for St. Jude patients.

Our Grow team joined the effort with 82 participants in the walk and run and many volunteers who helped out at the event.

“It was very humbling to be able to contribute not only as the event chair but to also lead team Grow Financial. Growing the greater good is a fundamental part of our mission and helping St. Jude take care of children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases and their families definitely does that,” Yent shared.

Overall the 2019 St. Jude Walk/Run Tampa is forecasted to raise $280,000 which is a significant increase over 2018, and we know with the support of this community it will only go up in the future.

“The Walk/Run Tampa is projected to be a million-dollar fundraiser within five years and I’m looking forward to helping achieve this goal in my role as event chair for the next two years,” Yent said.

Thank you to everyone who supported the effort to end childhood cancer this year at the St. Jude Walk/Run Tampa!
