As a credit union originally founded on MacDill Air Force Base, it’s important to us that we continue to support the base and the wonderful people who serve there. Combine a beautiful day, a favorite sporting pastime and the spirit of friendly competition with the chance to assist our friends at MacDill AFB and you get one of our favorite events: the MacDill Chief’s Group Golf Tournament. We’ve sponsored this event since the inaugural tournament, and this year marks a decade of commitment.

Teresa Foss-Long, Chairman of the MacDill Chief’s Group Golf Tournament, said, “We would like to extend a big ‘Thank You’ to our returning presenting sponsor, Grow Financial! Grow has been with us from the beginning in 2011, and we cannot thank them enough for their continued support year over year!”

On Friday, April 16, groups of golfers lined up bright and early ready to play, including several teams made up of Grow team members. The four-person scramble format featured teams of four players competing against one another on a day of fun and fundraising. The purpose of the MacDill Chief’s Group organization is to improve morale and promote the general welfare of all enlisted members assigned to or visiting MacDill AFB, and all proceeds from the golf tournament directly support the folks serving on the base.

Chief MSgt Harley L. McCurter, President of the MacDill Chiefs Group, said, “Thank you everyone who has and will support this event. Your contributions will help improve the quality of life for our men and women in uniform at MacDill AFB in the next year.”
