Business Member Highlight: Meet Kinsler Psychology
We interviewed Dr. Kimberly Kinsler, cofounder of Kinsler Psychology, a mental health practice based in Lutz, Florida. After their years of military service, Dr. Kimberly Kinsler and her husband, Dr. Marvin Kinsler, were motivated by a sense of duty toward fellow veterans and community members needing mental health support. Their motto is, “Help … when life hurts.”
What’s the story behind Kinsler Psychology?
Drs. Kimberly and Marvin Kinsler founded Kinsler Psychology in 2006, initially subletting a small space in another office. As patients came to the office with different situations and challenges, the Kinslers continued to find new ways to meet their needs, adding administrative staff members and clinicians to the team as the practice grew. Fast forward several years to when, with commercial financing through Grow Financial, the Kinslers purchased their current location in Lutz, Florida, where they provide mental health counseling, psychological testing and medication management for individuals of all ages.
Dr. Kimberly Kinsler explained that most people just need a little support with everyday living, whether that’s managing stress, coping with something difficult in their past or handling life transitions. She aims to do whatever she can to remove the stigma from seeking mental health treatment. “When people come here, I don’t necessarily think of it as ‘mental health disorders’ — that’s part of the stigma associated with getting mental health treatment.”
In addition to its regular services, Kinsler Psychology also provides free autism screenings once per month, available virtually across Florida. “I believe it’s important to give back to the community. Autism assessment has actually become one of our specialties because so many people don’t know where to go to get treatment, and we can start them off on the process for free.”
Why did you choose Grow Financial for business banking?
As an organization founded on MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, we appreciate that our ongoing support for our military and veterans is what sparked Dr. Kimberly Kinsler’s initial interest in Grow and that our team’s focus on personalized member service assured her we were the right place to do business.
Dr. Kinsler shared, “When we came to Grow, they said we could open your account up with as little as $5, so it was a no-brainer for me. I’m so glad we went with Grow. I absolutely love the customer service. I love walking in, and team members will remember us, ask questions — everyone was just so friendly.”
Before financing her expansion to a new location, Dr. Kinsler contacted Thomas Feindt, our CEO. She appreciated that he personally returned her call, assured her of Grow’s willingness to help her business grow and put her in touch with specific people on our Business Solutions team who handled her loan throughout the process. Dr. Kinsler gave a special shout-out to Martin and Justin: “Between the two of them, they’ve made the process [of commercial financing] so smooth for us. I could not thank them enough.”
Thank you for the feedback, Dr. Kinsler, and for sharing your story with us. To learn more, visit kinslerpsychology.com.
