Grow Financial’s Charitable Impact in 2023: Growing the Greater Good

At Grow Financial, our mission is to serve people, not profit. Service to members and the community is at the heart of everything we do. In 2023, we proudly supported a diverse array of 501(c)(3) organizations, making a significant charitable impact through both financial contributions and dedicated volunteerism — summarized in the 2023 Community Impact Report. Here’s a more detailed look at the specific causes and organizations we championed this past year.

Supporting Children & Promoting Youth Education

We believe in the power of education to transform lives, particularly when it comes to financial literacy education for kids. This belief drove our support for the Bright Minds, Fresh Ideas Student Think Tank and educational institutions, such as the Lanier Elementary PTA, Summerville DREAM, and Pinewood Preparatory School. Additionally, we supported youth-focused initiatives through organizations like Tampa Bay Area Credit Unions for Kids, Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and GiGi’s Playhouse, to ensure young minds have the resources they need to thrive.

Combating Hunger & Homelessness

In our ongoing effort to combat hunger and homelessness, we donated money and contributed volunteer hours to Metropolitan Ministries and the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. Our support aided these organizations in offering essential services and resources to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.

A Grow team member who volunteered with Metropolitan Ministries shared, “It was heartwarming to reach so many great women and their children, serving them dinner and seeing the smiles on their faces.” (Read more about how Grow team members used their volunteer days to make a charitable impact here.)

Fostering Community Development & Civic Engagement

Our support for wonderful organizations such as the United Way of Hernando County, Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County and the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa reflects our commitment to community development. These contributions helped improve living conditions and provided crucial services for community members.

We celebrated our community’s rich cultural tapestry by supporting Tampa Pride, Inc., promoting inclusion for all at the beloved annual parade and supporting the Tampa Police Memorial Fund’s 29th annual Memorial Run 5K.

Enhancing Higher Education, Sports & Recreation

Supporting higher education initiatives, we partnered with the University of South Florida Foundation, furthering academic excellence and accessibility for students in the local Tampa Bay region. Appreciating the importance of sports and recreation in building community spirit and promoting healthy lifestyles, we donated to the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, the Sports Club of Tampa Bay Charity and the Summerville Miracle League.

Supporting Animal Welfare

Many Grow team members are passionate about animal welfare, donating time, energy and resources to offer animals love and care — including building free doghouses through the Community Pet Project. One team member shared, “I loved putting my skills to work constructing shelters for local pets. I appreciate that Grow provides team members with volunteer time so we can make it a priority to give back.”

As an organization, we extended our support to a variety of animal-related charitable organizations, including the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, the Riverbanks Society and the Suncoast Animal League. These contributions helped provide care, shelter and adoption services for countless animals in need.

Advancing Health & Medical Research

Health and medical research are critical to building healthier communities. We proudly supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities, two organizations at the forefront of pediatric research and treatment, and Nyan Cares, which provides health, historical and relevant educational information to the local Tampa community.

Through our collaboration with dozens of incredible 501(c)(3) charities, Grow remains deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our members and the broader community. Here’s the full list of organizations we donated to in 2023:
