Plan Ahead for Holiday Spending with a Club Account
The winter holiday season is a time for joy, family and festivities, but it often comes with a hefty price tag. Many of us end up doing our holiday spending a bit too freely, leading to financial stress come January. Get ahead with a Club Account so you can enjoy the holidays without overspending.
Save early, avoid stress
Starting your holiday savings plan in the fall gives you a significant head start. By spreading out your savings efforts over several months, you’ll have more time to accumulate funds and avoid the last-minute scramble to find extra cash or the temptation to rely on credit cards. (Read more about avoiding common holiday spending mistakes.)
Your custom holiday savings account
A Club Account is a special savings account designed to help you set aside money for specific financial goals. With a minimum starting deposit of just $5, it’s an easy and accessible way to save. Here’s how to make Club Accounts work for your holiday spending:
- Contribute regularly. Put money aside periodically, even if it’s a few dollars here and there, to take advantage of the time between now and December.
- Try automatic transfers. By setting up regular deposits from your paycheck, you can steadily grow your holiday fund without having to think about it. Once you’ve successfully navigated one holiday season with your Club Account, planning for future holidays will become second nature. You’ll be on your way to making holiday budgeting a lifelong habit!
- Customize your account. Another fun feature of Club Accounts? You can rename them to pretty much anything you’d like. If you could use a little extra motivation to keep from spending that money, you might consider naming the account your “Hands-Off Holiday Spending Budget.” Track your progress toward multiple savings goals using the Savings Goals tool in Grow Online and Mobile Banking.*
By saving for your holiday spending early with a Club Account, you can enjoy the festive season without the financial stress.

How to Find Your Routing & Account Numbers
When you make a payment online, by phone or on a mobile device, you may be asked for our routing number and your checking account number. Credit unions and banks use these numbers to identify accounts and make sure money gets where it’s supposed to be. You’ll also need to provide your routing and checking account numbers for:
- Direct deposits
- Electronic checks
- Military allotments
- Wire transfers
Where to Find Your Routing & Checking Account Numbers
Your personal checks include both our routing number and your account number, as shown on the Grow check example below.
Don’t have a Grow check? No worries.
Visit any Grow store and ask for a Direct Deposit Form. It lists both your routing number and checking account number.
Making a Loan Payment
When it comes to making payments, we try to make it as painless as possible to pay your loan every month. We have several different ways to pay, including convenient online options.
Pay Online
You have two ways to pay online by transferring funds from another bank or credit union.
- Grow Online Banking (Preferred payment method for any loan)
This is the simplest way to pay your loan. You can make one-time payments or set up automatic recurring payments in Grow Online Banking. Once you log in, select “Transfer/Payments” from the menu. If you’re not enrolled in Grow Online Banking yet, you can set up your account in just a few minutes.

- Debit Card or ACH (Available for auto, personal loans and HELOCs)
Note: ACH and debit card payments are not available for credit cards or most mortgages, except HELOCs.

Pay by Mail
You can also pay any Grow loan by check through the mail. Please remember to include your account number and Grow loan number on the check. (For credit card payments, please do not write your 16-digit credit card number on the check, which can cause a delay in processing the payment.)
